Coordinating Complex Healthcare Delivery at GenesisCare Campbelltown

Project Overview

Reducing coordination risk and protecting build certainty on a complex healthcare facility

IIMBE supported Erilyan in delivering GenesisCare Campbelltown, a multi-storey healthcare and aged care facility where services coordination, installation accuracy, and compliance were critical to successful delivery.

Challenge

Healthcare projects carry a higher consequence of failure. When coordination breaks down, the result is not just design inefficiency. It creates rework, delays programme, increases commercial pressure, and risks operational issues that persist beyond handover.

Erilyan needed a more disciplined digital approach across a fragmented supply chain, with coordination processes that supported construction delivery rather than becoming another layer of administration.

IIMBE role

IIMBE was engaged to lead digital coordination and bring structure, visibility, and control to project delivery.

DEFINE

At mobilisation, digital capability varied significantly across trades and consultants. Without a clear framework, inconsistent modelling and unclear responsibilities would quickly undermine delivery.

IIMBE established the coordination structure upfront by defining model exchange protocols, clarifying responsibilities across the team, and setting clear expectations for clash detection, issue resolution, and information quality.

This created a practical foundation for delivery, aligned to site realities and build requirements.

DELIVER

Over nine coordination cycles across five months, IIMBE provided active coordination leadership across the project team.

We federated multidisciplinary models, led coordination reviews, and drove issue resolution across trades. Where capability gaps existed, we intervened directly to maintain coordination quality and ensure issues were resolved before affecting site works.

This reduced rework risk, improved the speed and quality of decision-making, and gave the contractor stronger visibility over buildability and delivery risk.

ENABLE

IIMBE’s role extended beyond project coordination. Through hands-on support and practical guidance, we helped strengthen digital understanding within the delivery team and reinforce structured ways of working that could be applied beyond this project.

That left Erilyan with more than a coordinated outcome. It left them with stronger internal capability and a more repeatable delivery model.

Outcome

By embedding digital discipline into project delivery, IIMBE helped Erilyan reduce coordination risk, protect programme and cost certainty, and deliver a more controlled path from design to construction.
