The terrible twos. A time of stepping out of your comfort zone, challenging the status quo and moving quickly in new directions – albeit with odd bruise or grey hair along the way. For start-ups and toddlers alike growing can be hard, especially in the middle of a global pandemic. All of which is why IIMBE is so proud of how far we’ve come by our second birthday…
IIMBE was founded in March 2020 by three of the most experienced BIM specialists in Australia. Because BIM optimises construction delivery across major Australian infrastructure and private sector projects, the company is in high demand.
In our second year of operation, our business has grown 235% despite lockdowns and operating uncertainty in the building industry. We also expanded our team to include highly experienced and well-regarded digital delivery specialists like Mark Cronin, Yu Jen Teo, Ralph Mabunga and Ben Shoebridge.
Today, we support some of the largest and most complex new builds and strategic policy programs on the market in Australia and across the wider Asia-Pacific region. For instance:
- In 2021 we started work with developer partner MIRVAC to help deliver an ambitious premium-grade tower in central Sydney at 55 Pitt Street. Winner of a City of Sydney international design excellence competition, the 55 storey, $1.5 billion Pitt Street development could reach up 232 metres in height and is set to transform the skyline of the city.
- IIMBE also worked closely with the Victorian Government on the Victorian Digital Asset Strategy (VDAS) framework. We recently released Digital Asset Policy that will help shape the future of public asset development, supporting the state’s 165 major road and rail projects to meet Victoria’s growing transport needs as part of the $140 billion “Big Build” program.
- And we’ve partnered as an Information Manager and Adviser with BESIX Watpac on the construction of Sydney Metro Barangaroo Station, a $217 million project that includes the underground station platforms, station entrance, a variety of pedestrian and cycling facilities, surrounding roads, and the public domain works surrounding the station.
IIMBE is here to collaborate with you, and support organisations to better procure, build and operate their assets using digital engineering. We pride ourselves on operating transparently, being fully accountable and educating industry stakeholders around BIM – meaning we make sure you are comfortable with new processes and technologies furthering the development of your own BIM capabilities.
It’s been a busy second year and we are only just getting started. You’re welcome to share your journey with us – contact us today for a chat: hello@iimbe.io
